Buying your first designer handbag

We all like to shop in Zara, H&M and Primark coz the bags are fun and of course affordable. But there comes a time when we need something more "serious". I'm talking about going to job interviews and later on to work itself.
It is much better to appear with a real leather handbag that looks solid and and you know for sure that stitches won't come off and handles will not be torn after a while.

That's when you decide to buy a designer handbag. And here are some things that you need to consider before buying it:

1. What do you need it for?

You should decide when would you wear this bag. Will it be used only for work? Or maybe it's an everyday bag that you can also carry to the mall? How big should it be? Would you be carrying a lot of paperwork there? Would you need a longer strap for it?
These are all things you should ask yourself before even looking at the bags.

2. Set your budget

Decide on how much are you willing to spend on this bag. Be wise not to spent over the top. Ask yourself is by spending a certain amount of money you would still be able to pay your rent.

3. Do the research

Don't be lazy to look up the reviews of the bag online. I know, it takes time, but it will be very disappointing if you will regret buying it after all.
I would also suggest going to the store and seeing the bag itself. That way you will be able to see if size it good for you, if bag is suitable and so on.

4. Can you buy it cheaper?

If this is a brand that goes on sale, see if you can wait for it. Or maybe you can buy it pre-loved. That way you can definitely save some more money and maybe very soon you'll be ready to buy the next one.

Here are also few tips on choosing your first designer handbag:

1. Make sure it's light and comfortable to carry around.
2.Choose material wisely. Leather is defititely the best option
3. Make sure the bag is very simple and classic, that way you will use it years.
4. Bags like Louis Vuitton and Chanel are pricey but they never go on sale. In fact the price is always growing, so it's a good investment as well.

And finally I would like to list some affordable brands
(that go on sale and some even have outlet stores):

Coach
Kate Spade
Michael Kors
Marc by Marc Jacobs
Diane von Furstenberg
Dooney and Bourke
Tory Burch
Vince Camuto
Cole Haan
See by Chloe
McQ
Rebecca Minkoff
